Engr. Emetu speaks on AIIP, assures Ama-Ekpu Ohaefia Women’s Development Union of support.

The Deputy Governor of Abia State Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu has said that the present administration in the state has made an arrangement to establish AIIP — Abia Industrial and innovation park, an Industrial cluster located towards the boundary with Rivers State, which will create job opportunities for the unemployed youth.

Emetu, who made this declaration during a courtesy visit by Ama-Ekpu Ohafia Women’s Development Union – Umuahia branch in his office at Government house Umuahia, also disclosed that the state is looking forward for credible investors so that Abians will be gainfully employed.

He promised Ama-Ekpu Ohaefia Women’s development Union – Umuahia branch of his support in his capacity and expressed his worries over their jobless youth and how they can be empowered in other to eliminate room for hoodlums.

Engr. Emetu stated that they are Coco estate in six local government of which Ohaefia is included.

Furthermore, the. Deputy Governor emphasized more on Agriculture saying that farming has been upgraded into a mechanized way. And urged the women to advise their youth in the area of stealing armoured cables and removing things from the transformer which is hindering Ohafia people from having electricity light in their communities and which also clog the progress of some people’s business and due to the high rate of fuel, most people may not function optimally while some may want to relocate their business.

In conclusion, Engr. Emetu reminded the women that he didn’t forget the promise he made to them concerning the renovation of their Meeting Hall and assured them of completing the project.

In her vote of thanks, the Secretary of Ama-Ekpu Development Union Mrs Chidinma Ekenna Oge thanked the Deputy Governor Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu and his wife for making out time out of their busy schedule to listen to them and as well as assured of his support to them.

The women graced the visit with a gift to the Deputy and his wife.
