Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has finally been affirmed governor of the state by the Supreme Court sitting in Abuja thus bringing an end to the series of litigation which plagued his administration since it’s inception in 2015.
A seven-man panel of the Supreme Court, led by Justice Olabode Rhodes-Vivour today upheld the election of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu as the Governor of Abia State.
Dr Alex Otti, had approached the APEX Court seeking to be declared the Governor of Abia State.
Dr. Livy Uzoukwu, SAN, and
Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, Counsels to the peoples democratic party and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, respectively urged the apex court to dismiss the appeal stating that the it is strange.
In the Appeal number marked SC.1465/2019,the Court held that the Appeal by Dr Alex Otti was a waste of time and abuse of court processes and Subsequently dismissed the Appeal in favor of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu..
