Encomium as ex ASUBEB boss, Elder Nnenna Onwusogh goes home

Amankalu, Igbere in Bende Local Government Area (LGA), Abia State stood still recently as the remains of former Abia State Universal Basic Educaion (ASUBEB)  Chairman, Late Elder (Mrs) Nnenna Elizabeth Onwusogh was buried, aged, 77 years.

The body was interred at their family residency, Late Chief Okorie Nkwerre Onwusogh compound Amankalu Igbere in accordance to Christian rites.

In his sermon, the former Principal Clerk of General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church Nigeria (PCN), Most Rev. Uma Onwunta described the late ASUBEB boss as a selfless cum forthright woman who helped people across tribal divides, as well as placed high priority on indigents welfare in the society.

The clergy who urged Christians to emulate the exemplary lifestyle of the deceased added that well to do individuals should learn to listen to the downtrodden on the society in order to assist them.

Rev. Onwunta charged the deceased’s children to honour their late mothers legacy by living in unity, adding that it is the only way they could always succeed in their endeavours.

He further revealed that the deceased’s children were ordained to do great things in Igbere land, charging the entire community not to trouble them considering their late mother’s philanthropic gestures.

Contributing, the Minister-in-charge, PCN Umuahia Parish, Rt. Rev. Dr. Chinedu I. Okorafor described late Mrs.  Onwusogh as a true follower of Christ whose magnanimity moved across various societies.

Meanwhile, the ASUBEB, Chairman, Elder Josiah Okechukwu Ananaba has described the late ex-ASUBEB boss as a dutiful woman of integrity whose track record while at the helm of affairs remained devoid of any ambiguity.

Represented by the ASUBEB Staff Welfare chairman, Deacon Oji Okoro Oji while receiving the body of late Onwusogh (popularly known as Mama Karaka), noted the government agency would miss her seasoned contribution, geared towards education improvement in Abia State and beyond.

The second son of he deceased, Mr. Udeogu Onwusogh has promised to immortalize their late mother by ensuring the maintenance of their mother’s legacies while she lived.

 

In their separate remarks, former Super Eagles’ players, Kalu Uche and his brother, Ikechukwu Uche eulogized the late Mrs. Onwusogh, adding that they would uphold the philanthropic legacy of their late aunty which they insisted was second to none.

Dignatories at the event include the former Abia State Governor and the Senator representing Abia North Senatorial Zone, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, former Director of Finance, Government House, Mr. Jones Udeogu, among others.
