Elele Ubima Omerelu residence express worries over kidnapping

The Elele Ubima Omerelu axis of the Port Harcourt Owerri express road has recorded several kidnapping in recent times.
Meanwhile, ahead of the Christmas week, travellers hoping to use Emohua axis of the East West road are becoming worried. This is following the recent robbery attack on the 18th and 19th December on that route. Emohua which shares boundary with at least four Local Government Area in Rivers State has seen a spike in insecurity in recent time.
A young man who was freed recently from the kidnappers den, has called on the police in Rivers State to change the officers in Obima Omerelu axis of the Port Harcourt Owerri express road this yuletide. The traumatised young man who said he spent three days in captivity, made this call while speaking on the conversation he overhead from his abductors.  He said while he was blind folded, he they were angrily discussing how the police did not give them enough time to get more people, and the won’t comply with the agreed  payment. Also, that they will use the money they realise to get more weapons.  The young man suggested that they should replace the officers who have stayed long in that axis, that it will go a long way to reduce reduce kidnappers on that axis.
Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area Tom Alieze said security agencies in the area has agreed to provide adequate security in the communities and along the East West road this yuletide. Mr Alieze said that the latest efforts by the council and security agencies will leave no space for hoodlum to operate.
” we have been able to hold our security meetings. The security agencies has promised and assured that they will be up and doing to ensure there is security and peace in that axis”he stated.
