Elder Statesman, Dr Anagha Ezeikpe Laid To Rest Amidst Eulogies.

 

 

Elder Statesman and one of the Founding Fathers of Abia state, Ezeogo (Dr) Anagha Ezikpe, has been laid to rest in his country home,Nymp Castle, Amanta Abiriba, Ohafia Local Government Area amidst eulogies from family, friends and will wishers.

 

Recall that Ezeogo Anagha Ezikpe aged 91, who is also one of the pioneer members of the People’s Democratic Party, Abia State chapter, died in active service on 25th December 2021after he slumped during a meeting of the state Advisory Council and was later pronounced dead at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia.

 

Speaking at a funeral service held at Egwena Girls’ Secondary School Abiriba and conducted by the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu recalled the sterling contributions made by the deceased since the creation of Abia State.

Governor Ikpeazu while noting that he had a personal relationship with the deceased, said Ezeogo Dr Anagha Ezeikpe left bold footprints in the sands of time and would be remembered for his contributions in the medical professionals as well as on the political firmament.

He regretted that the vacuum created by demise of Ezeogo Dr Anagha Ezeikpe will be difficult to fill and urged the Abariba community,Abia and those that came in contact with the deceased to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.

 

Condoling the bereaved family,a former Military Governor Retired Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe said that the deceased contributed immensely to the politics and affairs of the state where he played a pivotal role in the development of the health sector with outstanding landmarks in general medicine and service to Humanity.

In a sermon the principal Clerk of General Assembly Presbyterian Church of Nigeria ,the most Rev. Miracle Ajah admonished christians to fear the Lord today to avoid regret tomorrow.

According to him, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, adding that those who fail to fear the Lord have lost every sense of value, describing Jesus Christ as the best friend anyone can boast of.

In a biography on behalf of the family, the first Son of the deceased, Mr George Anagha Ezikpe while describing their father as a philantropist and patriot, noted that their father exhibited laudable and consistent devotion to humanitarian causes and overall service to Community and mankind.
