EFCC Arrests 23 Suspected Internet Fraudsters

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, said it has arrested 23 suspected internet fraudsters in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

EFCC Spokesperson, Dele Oyewale who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday said the operatives of the Enugu Zonal Command made the arrest following “actionable intelligence.”

Oyewale who explained that the items recovered from them included laptop and phones noted that the suspects would be charged to court at the end of investigations.

The statement in parts, “The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has arrested twenty-three (23) suspected internet fraudsters in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

“The suspects were arrested in the early hours of Thursday, May 2, 2024 following actionable intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet related activities.

“Items recovered from them include one laptop and mobile phones. The suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
