DSS Reportedly Arrests CBN Deputy Gov Kingsley Obiora

The Department of State Services (DSS) has taken into custody Kingsley Obiora, the Deputy Governor in charge of economic policy at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). His arrest is reportedly linked to allegations of financial mismanagement during the tenure of the suspended CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele. Obiora is believed to be a key witness in the investigation against Emefiele.

Kingsley Obiora assumed the role of Deputy Governor at the Central Bank of Nigeria on March 2, 2020. In a related development, Abbas Masanawa, NIRSAL Boss, was recently apprehended and is currently being held by the DSS as part of their efforts to probe allegations of corruption surrounding Emefiele.
