In the last three and half years of the All Progressive Congress (APC) rule led by President Muhammadu Buhari, marginalization of the Igbo has worsened. At the helm is the all-conquering and scheming Fulani-Cabal.
Both Islam and northern region have been enacted as guiding principle…just as it was set forth by their patron saint, Sir Ahmadu Bello. He had said: ‘The new nation called Nigerian should be an estate of our great grandfather Othman Dan Fodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of power. We use the minorities in the north as willing tools and the south as a conquered territory and never allow them to rule over us and never allow them to have control over their own future’.
That is why Nigeria in the past two years relegated the Igbo. Nigeria becomes the only Federation in the world where all major security agencies are headed by only one section of the federation and only members of one faith.

No southerner, no Igbo has been made substantive Comptroller General of Customs in 30 years. Anti-Igbo sentiment had been driven to a crescendo under Buhari in the first two years of his second coming as Nigeria’s Head of State. It was dehumanizing Christmas 2016 as the army blockage near Niger Bridge was used to seize foodstuff, vehicles etc from unsuspecting returnees for celebration.
We believe that the two years of Buhari rule are the most dreadful and the worst for Ndigbo. Marginalization of Igbo took disheartening tone, making the two years the worst since the civil war experience. Today, Igbo merchants import goods from abroad via Tincan Port but their goods are seized, confiscated or allowed to rot in the transit warehouses.
In the court arena while many accused are brought to court with escort, Igbo elements Olisa Metuh and Nnamdi Kanu, were the only ones brought to court in handcuffs. It shows Igbo under Buhari are continually at the periphery and thoroughly marginalized.
The Fulani introduce all sorts of policies to keep Igbo down and to make the North catch up JAMB cut off points, federal character, lopsided monthly allocation, state and local government creation, appointments, promotions and retirement, in the armed forces and so on.
