Dr. Ngozi Obioma Officially Bows Out As Abia Head of Service, Hands Over Leadership To Mr. Benson Ojeikere

Dr. (Mrs.) Ngozi Queen Obioma has officially handed over the mantle of leadership as Abia State Head of Service to her successor, Mr. Benson Ojeikere, marking the end of her tenure at the helm of the State’s Civil and Public Service.

 

The handover ceremony, held at the Office of the Head of Service in Ogurube Layout, Umuahia, was attended by a host of dignitaries, including Permanent Secretaries, management, staff of the Office of the Head of Service, and other key stakeholders.

 

In her valedictory remarks, Dr. Obioma expressed profound gratitude to the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, for entrusting her with the position.

 

She emphasized the need for those in positions of authority to see themselves as chief servants and advised them to treat all civil and public servants with respect and fairness, irrespective of their grade levels.

Dr. Obioma attributed her success to the unwavering commitment and cooperation of the entire Abia workforce.

 

She expressed pride in serving the state with integrity and dignity, adding that her tenure was marked by meritorious accomplishments.

 

The outgoing Head of Service prayed for the success of her successor.

In his speech, the new Head of Service, Mr. Benson Ojeikere, pledged to uphold and build on the reforms initiated by Governor Alex Otti’s administration to transform the Civil and Public Service into a more efficient, effective, and responsive institution.

He assured the workforce of his commitment to prioritizing their welfare and fostering inclusivity to achieve optimal results in the state civil service.

 

Earlier, some Permanent Secretaries and the Director of Administration in the Head of Service’s office commended Dr. Obioma for her exemplary leadership and lasting contributions to the Abia Civil Service.

 

They vowed to preserve her legacies and assured Mr. Ojeikere of their unwavering loyalty and support.

 

The new Head of Service, a seasoned civil servant with decades of experience, is expected to leverage his expertise to advance the state’s public service.

 

Highlights of the occasion included the official presentation of the office to Mr. Ojeikere and the ceremonial pulling out of the outgoing Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Ngozi Queen Obioma, by the workers.
