The Chairman of Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ASOPADEC), Chief Samuel Okezie Nwogu, has commended Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, for reinventing Aba back to its former glory, through infrastructural development and training of Aba shoemakers in China on shoe automation.
According to Chief Nwogu, during an interaction with journalists in his office recently, in Umuahia, said that the coming on board of Dr. Ikpeazu with his caterpillar revolution has bring life back to the business community with the reconstruction of roads and other infrastructure that have ensure ease of doing business in the commercial hub of the state.
The ASOPADEC boss further said that the fourth ASOPADEC board headed by him has embarked on many developmental projects to complement the efforts of Dr. Ikpeazu and urged Abians to re-elect the governor come 2019.
He also disclosed that the commission were sponsoring over 200 persons to benefit from the state government established skills acquisition programmes at Umuobakwa in Obingwa Local Government Area, while over 150 students are undergoing training at Rhema University, Aba to enable them further their education.
Nwogu, also attributed the achievements of the commission to the consistent release of funds due to the commission by Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, while describing the relationships between the commission and the oil producing communities as very cordial, he stated that the communities are in support of the governor and will always request for more achievements. In a related development, Chief Nwogu, has charged staff of the commission to work harmoniously to move the commission forward.
Speaking at a one day seminar held recently at Kolping Society Umuahia, Nwogu who was represented by a board member of the Commission, Chief Uzoma Ihuka, spoke on a theme: “Effective Service Delivery” in a dynamic economy, said that the essence of the exercise was to enhance the growth of ASOPADEC and also prepare the staff for future positions of authority, and urged them to take the seminar and their work in the commission seriously.
In his remark, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Alozie Odemelam, described the seminar as a regular exercise for responsive organization.
Odoemelam also said that the seminae would beneficiary to the staff .
The Head of Administration, Mr. Ikechukwu Ichite, also applauded the Chairman and the board members for funding the seminar
He commended the resource persons for their lecture.
