The Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. KufreAbasi Edidem, has praised Governor Umo Eno for receiving an Excellence Award from President Bola Tinubu.
Governor Eno was given the Nigeria Excellence Award in Public Service for Sustainable Development and Community Empowerment at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja over the weekend.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Deputy Speaker described the award as “well-deserved,” saying it shows that Governor Eno is a visionary leader who cares about the people.
Edidem, who represents the Itu State Constituency, said the award is not just for the governor but for the entire people of Akwa Ibom. He noted that the governor’s policies in economic inclusion, youth empowerment, social welfare, infrastructure, and community development have improved many lives.
He said, “Governor Umo Eno has, in a short time, shown great commitment to improving the lives of our people. His efforts in community empowerment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development have put Akwa Ibom on a new path of progress and national recognition.”
The Deputy Speaker added that the national award encourages leaders in the state to continue supporting the governor’s vision for a prosperous, peaceful, and inclusive Akwa Ibom.
“As Akwa Ibom continues to grow under his leadership, we celebrate this great achievement and look forward to more successes that will bring lasting prosperity to our state,” he said.
