The former Senate President, David Mark as well as over one hundred and sixty six (166) golfers would on Saturday participate in the governor Udom Emmanuel’s victory golf tournament which would be held in Ibom hotels and golf resort, Uyo Akwa Ibom State
The Captain of the club, Hon. Usenobong Akpabio who disclosed this to newsmen on Thursday at the resort said the tournment was part of efforts by the club to commemorate the swearing in of Gov. Emmanuel on May 29.
Akpabio explained that the tournament would have four categories which included: Handicap 0- 9, 10-16, 17-22 and 23-28. He added that ladies and the veteran categories would also hit the fairways on Saturday.
He further explained that there would be many prizes to be won noting that a special and reserved trophy shall be given to the governor for his sponsorship and support to the development of golf in the state.
His words “we have plenty of prizes that people are going to win, but we have one big important trophy, that trophy is going to be given to His Excellency The Governor, for his uncompromising stand in the development of golf “
Akpabio who claimed that Ibom golf course was the best in West Africa encouraged all the government officials including appointees to play golf as the government has done well in maintaining the facility.
He mentioned that aside from the former Senate President, the former governor of Osun State, Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola and many other dignitaries would also grace the tournam
