CSOs Hold Maiden Annual Conference In Uyo

Civil Society Organisations in Akwa Ibom State will on Friday, November 10 hold their 1st Annual Conference at the Nelson Mandela Hall, Watbridge Hotels and Suites, Uyo, the State capital.

 

This was contained in a statement signed on Thursday by the Director, Center for Human Rights & Accountability Network (CHRAN) in Akwa Ibom, Otuekong Franklyn Isong who is also the organizer of the event.

 

He disclosed that the Guest Speaker will be a renowned Professor of Economics and Public Policy, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, and Chairman, Foundation for Economic Research and Training, Prof. Akpan Hogan Ekpo.

The Guest of Honour according to the statement will be the Political Leader of Uyo Senatorial District and Chairman, Comfort 95.1 FM, Uyo, Senator Effiong Bob.

 

While the Senator representing Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Ekong Sampson, will serve as the Special Guest.

 

Isong maintained that the Paramount Ruler of ONNA Local Government Area, His Royal Majesty, Edidem Raymond Timothy Inyang FCA, will serve as the Father of the Day adding that the participants shall be the leaders and members of civil society organisations, human rights groups, professional bodies, town unions, non-governmental organisations, community-based organisations, invitees and members of the public.
