Cross River State Government Offers N5m Reward for Information on Criminals

Cross River State Government has placed the sum of five million naira (5,000.000) as a reward to anybody that can provide useful information that will lead to the arrest of criminals in the State.

The Governor of the state Sen. Bassey Otu initiated the move in order to encourage everyone to participate in the struggle to curb crime in the State, especially kidnapping.

The cash reward is also particularly for a useful information that will lead to the rescue of the abducted medical practitioner Prof. Ekanem Philip who was abducted over a month ago and is yet to regain her freedom which has led to the suspension of treatment by all doctors in the State, as they protested and said they will not work until their colleague is released.

The doctors are all living in fear as they don’t know who else to be abducted amongst them, 14 of their colleagues have been abducted by the kidnappers in the State.

The State has established a whistleblower desk where such information can be received, at the office of the Senior State Security Adviser of Cross River State.
