Cross River Gov’t Reopens Marina Resort, Warns Against Future Incidents

The Cross River State Governor Senator Bassey Otu, has charged the Management of Marina Resort Calabar to wake up and learn from it’s poor managerial operation and embrace
the best operations in order to prevent any future incident from occurring.

 

The Cross River State Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Elvert Ayambem disclosed this while representing the Governor during the reopening of the resort.

It will be recalled that the State Government had earlier close down the resort following an incident that occurred in the resort, involving some medical students who went on a boat cruise as part of activities to mark their annual health week but their boat capsized.

Three of the students died in the process while the rest of the students were rescued, the Cross River State Government said it was necessary to temporarily close down the resort in order to equip and put more safety measures in place.

 

During the reopening of the resort, the Governor charged the management and the people of the state to keep the resort clean always as well as add value to it rather than destroy the resort or any other Government property.
