Cross River First Lady Empowers 300 BUDA Workers in Obudu

The First Lady of Cross River State, Bishop Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, has empowered no fewer than 300 workers of the Obudu Urban Development Authority (BUDA) with welfare packages and start-up support.

The empowerment programme, held at the Obudu German Hospital over the weekend, brought smiles to the beneficiaries who received items including wrappers, bags of rice, startup funds, and POS terminals.

Speaking at the event, Bishop Otu said the initiative was aimed at equipping workers to perform their duties effectively while also improving community welfare. She pledged to clear the backlog of stipends owed to BUDA workers and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting communities across the state.

The Chairman of Obudu Local Government Area, Ambassador Peter Undiadeye, represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Rhoda Ashong, lauded the Governor’s wife for her consistent support. He also recalled her recent free medical outreach, which brought qualified doctors to the area.
