Cross River Civil Servants Gets New HOS, Charged to be Dedicated to Their Works

The Cross River State Civil servants have been told to be dedicated to their work as well as focus on their place of assignment.

 

The Governor of the State Senator Bassey Otu gave the charge during the swearing-in of the new Head of Service Dr. Innocent Eteng, the Governor said without the civil servants continuity in governance would not be achieved. So there is need for civil servants to be focused in their assignments so that at the end their contributory pension will be due them.

 

Governor Otu promised to improve the welfare and working conditions in the workforce, saying that it is sad to know that after 35 years in the service, it will be difficult for the civil servants to attend to their health and other needs due to lack of money.

Otu said his administration will create a way to retain some of the retirees so that they can transfer their knowledge and teach the younger ones in the civil service. He charged the newly appointed Head of service to be dedicated and put things in the right places, as whom much is given much is required.

 

Amongst those who attended the swearing-in was the Secretary to the State Government Professor Anthony Owan Enoh who congratulated the Head of service saying that his appointment is well deserved knowing that his achievements are through hard work and also described him as an intellectual, sound, and fearless man who will deliver his best to improve the civil service and the State at large.

The new HOS, Dr. Innocent Eteng who was until his appointment a Permanent Secretary in the office of the Secretary to the State Government appreciated the Governor for finding him worthy to do the assignment, he also assured the State Governor that he will deliver his best to reform the State Civil Service.
