Brass Junction in Aba came alive with colours, movement, and creativity during the Aba Fashion Week Festival. The event was organized to showcase the talent and creativity in the fashion industry.

Aba Fashion Week, one of the most anticipated fashion events in West Africa, has officially started in the busy commercial city of Aba, Abia State. Introduced by UGOMSINACHI, this year’s edition attracted fashion lovers, designers, models, and industry experts from across Africa and beyond.

With the theme “Sustainability in Fashion,” designers were encouraged to use eco-friendly materials and adopt creative, environmentally conscious ideas in their work.

The opening ceremony featured a beautiful parade of models who lit up the runway with stunning designs from top fashion houses. The audience enjoyed the mix of traditional African prints and modern styles, highlighted by bright colours, fine details, and bold designs that showcased Africa’s rich creativity.

One major highlight was the “Design of the Year” competition, which gave young designers a global platform. After a tough contest, a young designer from Lagos won the top award. Her collection, made entirely from recycled materials, was praised for its originality, beauty, and strong message of sustainability.
