COVID 19: Town Criers in Arochukwu Sensitize People on Preventive Measures

Town Criers in Arochukwu LGA have been mobilized with a charge to help disseminate information on the preventive measures to tackle corona virus disease across various communities in the area.

Speaking during an interactive session in his hometown, on Saturday 18th April, 2020, the member representing Arochukwu State Constituency in the Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Mike Ukoha told the town criers that his office and Nzuko Aro Worldwide urged them to go round the villages and announce on the preventive measures against corona virus pandemic.

He told them that their focus must be to let the rural populace understand the importance of preventing themselves against the pandemic.

He listed some of the preventive measures to include social distancing, washing of hands regularly, sanitizing of hands, covering of the mouth while coughing or sneezing etc.

The Minority Whip told them that the sensitization and announcement should last for 7 days to enable the people understand the measures well.

The meeting has many in attendance including Mazi Jeremiah Onwumere, Vice President, Nzuko Aro, among others.
