COVID 19: Abia Deputy Majority Leader gives cash reliefs to Ukwa-East

The Deputy Majority Leader/member representing Ukwa-East State Constituency, in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Paul Taribo, has given out cash relief of N5000 each to 100 vulnerable people across all the wards in his constituency, Ukwa-East Local Government Area (LGA), Abia state.

This, the lawmaker said was part of the measures put in place to cushion the untold hardship occasioned by COVID-19 pandemic in Abia state and Nigeria at large.

Speaking with our correspondents, the legislator who had earlier shared 50 bags of rice and sanitizers to his constituents, added that the palliative packages were to ensure the lockdown measure put in place by the Abia state Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, realizes it’s goals as most of their youths live on daily wages.

Chief Taribo urged the Ndoki people to be patient, law-abiding and support Abia COVID 19 taskforce while expressing hope that with measures put in place in Ukwa-East LGA and the entire state, and Nigeria, Coranavirus would soon be a thing of the past.

Contributing, the chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ukwa-East chapter, Comrade Akparanta Emmanuel, commended Hon. Taribo for rendering a helping hand to his constituents at a very critical time like this, noting that the youths will continue to synergize with stakeholders of the area to contain the COVID 19 global emergency.

Responding, one of the beneficiaries, Mr. Onwuka Princewill C. from Umuigubeachara ward, thanked the Abia lawmaker, stating that the cash brought a huge relieve to his household and prayed God to bless Hon. Paul Taribo for the benevolence.
