OPastors Emmanuel and Uchenna Onuchukwu of Dominion City Church, Umuahia
In an effort to build a Godly family, the Dominion City Church Umuahia, has organized a programme tagged “Couples Classic”.
The event which took place recently at the Eastern Comfort Hotel in Umuahia, Abia State was to remind couples of the love they shared before tying the nuptial.
In his brief sermon, the senior pastor of the church, Pastor Emmanuel Onuchukwu, said that the purpose is to heal the wounds that exist between couples and to raise a family according to God’s original plan.
According to him, “there is nothing as beautiful as couples whose marriages are built on passion and love of God “.
He advised couples not to let their anger tarry but endeavour to sort out every issue before bedtime in order not to give Satan a chance in their marriage.
Also speaking, the wife of the senior pastor, Pastor Uchenna Onuchukwu, states that these days it is difficult to get Christians to unwind adding that the programme will help couples to identify their weaknesses and to develop character that will help them succeed as husband and wife.
She explained that a kind of marriage God designed for us is three fold cord in which God alone is the third party.
According to her, “a marriage where the man or the woman is strong alone is not healthy but where the two are strong together they shall achieve anything they want”.
Pastor Onuchukwu further expressed that God is the third strand of the cord in our marriage that should not be replaced with anything, should that happen she warns that such cracks may lead to separation.
However, in a question and answer section, one of the couples who participated in the programme, Pastor Izuchukwu Ukandu, revealed that what he has learnt from the programme will help him spice up his marriage with passion and thanked the conveners and the church for adding value not only in their marriage but also in their christian living and lifestyle.
Meanwhile, the programme features red carpet moments, tales of how couples met before marriage, ball dance, discussions section and was wrapped up with prayers.
