National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members nationwide will soon receive a minimum wage of N77,000.
The Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, disclosed this yesterday while commissioning a staff bus donated by Capital Express Insurance.
He maintained that arrangements for the increased allowance had been finalized, emphasizing that corps members’ welfare and security remain his top priorities.
“By 2025, corps members will receive all the benefits they deserve. Their security and welfare are my primary focus,” he said.
The Director-General also highlighted the importance of the newly donated bus to the scheme, stating that it would ease transportation challenges for staff.
Earlier, in his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of Capital Express Insurance, Mr. Matthew Ogwezhi, noted that the company has been in partnership with the scheme for a while. He explained that the bus donation was part of the collaboration to support the activities of the NYSC.
He added that the donation was aimed at alleviating transportation challenges for staff, especially with the rising costs of fuel and transportation in the Abuja metropolis.
Mr. Ogwezhi also emphasized that the legacy of any organization lies in the impact it makes on society, urging companies to always give back to their communities.
