Consider Yourselves As Political Stakeholders. Ikpeazu tells LGA’s Chairpersons and Administrative Secretaries

The wife of Abia State Governor Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu has called on the Chairpersons and Administrative Secretaries of the 17, local government areas in Abia to see themselves as political stakeholders in the state by the virtue of their husbands appointment as Transition Chairmen.

Mrs. Ikpeazu made the call today when the Chairpersons and Administrative Secretaries of the 17, local governments of the state paid her a courtesy visit in her Government House Office in Umuahia.

According to her, “be good ambassadors of the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu led administration, reach out to the rural areas and maintain a cordial relationship with members of your communities because the position you occupy is very challenging and requires tolerance to ensure good governance at the local areas where you are closer to them “.

The Governor’s wife also charged the local government chairpersons to help their husbands solve problems in the rural areas as it brings governance closer to the people adding that her office is always open at any point they encounter challenges in the cause of their duties.

However, Mrs. Ikpeazu advised the chairpersons to emulate the state prayer network and organise same in their respective LGA’s.

Earlier, the leader of the Local Government Chairpersons, Mrs. Chioma Onyebuchi, and her Administrative Secretary counterpart, Mrs. Oluchi Ahukanna said that they came to appreciate the Governor’s wife because she epitomized the supportive wife of a leader by galvanizing the women folks into political landscape of the state.

According to them, “Mrs. Ikpeazu, painstakingly press for the appointment of women as secretaries in the local government and have also helped through various empowerment programmes to alleviate the sufferings of the rural poor”.

Speaking with National Ambassador, Mrs. Onyegbu, said that they came to show support and share ideas on how to replicate same in our various local government areas.

Meanwhile, in a related development, the wife of the Governor has also advised members of the Nzuko Ezi na Ulo, led by Elder Sampson Agomuo, who paid her a courtesy visit in her office recently to entrench the advocacy of sickle cell disease and cancer into their programme.

According to her, “your programme is apt and tend towards correcting so many ills as well as advises families on peaceful way of living.

In his remarks, Elder Sampson Agomuo who led the group stated that they came to show solidarity with the Governor’s wife especially where it concerns families,

Agomuo said that Nzuko Ezi na Ulo is a magazine programme broadcast by the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia state that advocates for peace in  families, advises the youths on good moral living and encourages families to bring their wards in Godly way hence society will be better off with it.
