Connak foundation calls for more indigenous investment in Abia

 

A Non Governmental Organization,under the aegis of Connak Foundation,has beckoned on Abians to make more investment in the state, rather than in other states.

The organization dropped this,through its founder, Mr Kenneth Ukeagu,during the foundation’s seventh founder’s day celebration in Umuahia.

Mr Ukeagu while interacting with pressmen, maintained that it was important for anyone who says he is wealthy to invest in his home state,adding that no man is rich outside his state.

Disclosing the vision of Connak foundation,the founder said he was inspired to start up the foundation with the desire of helping humanity.

According to him,the foundation which started in 2012, has its root in his hometown in Umuegwu Okpuala in Afugiri, Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia state, as a way of cutting down on the number of youths in the area who Indulge in alcoholism, drug,robbery, rape, which were prevalent in the area at that time.

He expressed joy that the foundation was counting its seventh year already,with several lives touched through it.

Mr Ukeagu stated that Connak has become a household name because of the innumerable impacts made by it,adding that many more achievements would be recorded, as long as they get more support.

However, the founder disclosed that apart from the education scheme which the foundation started with, the organization had also ventured into Entrepreneurship and
vocational training,ICT, Health care services and community development projects.

While promising to take the reach of Connak beyond Abia, thanked their partners who supported the 2019 founder’s day celebration.

Meanwhile,the Chief Executive Officer of the foundation,Mrs Carole Emeka Sunday, revealed that the Connak Founders day celebration was a yearly event used in empowering youths who have gone through their training program, awarding of scholarship, as well as giving of food items/wrappers to women.

She said the 2019 celebration was not a different one, as over fifty entrepreneurs were empowered with a start up capital and a hundred graduands of ICT program were also given a start up kit of a Laptop and a printer each.

The CEO while maintaining that the foundation would always take seriously the affairs of the young people, thanked all those who supported the 2019 celebration.

The foundation also took the celebration to another dimension by organising a talent hunt show in Umuahia, tagged ‘Abia’ Youth Arise’, a program arranged  to harness talents that are wasting away.

Indeed, the 2019 founder’s day celebration of Connak cannot leave the minds of Abians in a short while, as a large crowd  stormed the venue of the celebration with much excitement because of what they would benefit from the foundation. Your guess was as good as mine, all the attendees left the celebration well fed, with a gift pack in their hands.
