Conduct yourself peacefully, vote wisely during the elections- Nwuche

A former deputy speaker House Of Representative Prince Chibudom Nwuche urged Nigerians especially Rivers people to conduct themselves peacefully and vote wisely during the elections.

The former federal law maker said electorate should take the election seriously and elect credible leaders. He also advised security agencies to be apolitical and show professionalism in their conduct during the election.

The former federal law maker Prince Chibudom Nwuche also advised politicians to see election as a call to service and not to see it as a do or die affair.

” elections should not be a do or die affair. Everybody should take time to go and vote, and protect their vote. It should be done in a peaceful manner. We don’t need violence. Particular in Rivers state, I urged to maintain peace. The bedrock of all democracy is free, fair and credible elections ” he stated.

Similarly, still on elections. A member of PDP campaign council in Rivers state Chigozie Amem has called for a comprehensive security beef up across all offices and facilities of INEC in the state. Mr Emem in an interview with our reporters said the call became necessary following the threats comments made by an APC chieftain Orji Ngofa during a protest he led to the INEC headquarters Port Harcourt. The PDP chieftain urged the security agencies to put in place adequate security arrangement, aimed at protecting all INEC officials and materials from all forms of crimes and mischief before, during and after the Saturday’s election.

” the governor said that there is a calculated attempt by the APC to cause problem so that the election will be postponed. That is what they are doing. And the PDP’s members can not be pushed to join them in demonstrating. So that they will not say that there is higher level of insecurity in Rivers state as a result they should postponed. But we can not do that”

” the truth of the matter is that, if you look at the body language of the security agencies, you will see that they are already biased. But they don’t have options because the law has established their responsibilities, which they must execute. And if anything happens in Rivers state as a bridge of security, security agencies in Rivers state will be held responsible. The governor has told them that ” he stated.
