Committee On Staff Verification Inaugurated, Charged To Be Proactive

The committee on staff verification/audit and human resource management has been inaugurated with a charge on them to effectively carryout the assignment and report back to Government within a period of three weeks.

Inaugurating the committee,at the Conference Room,office of the Secretary to Abia State Government,the Secretary to the state Government, Professor Kenneth Kalu said that the essence of the exercise is not to witch-hunt or sack any worker but to identity the actual workforce and build an effective and efficient civil service system.

Prof Kalu, explained that they were selected from various sectors to bring their wealth of experience to bear and come with real database of Abia workers and template that will sanitise the civil service for effective and efficient service delivery.

He pointed out that staff in all MDAs,Local Government councils, Parastatals, State owned Higher institutions of learning and Pensioners will be verified.

Responding on behalf of other members of the committee, Mr Chuka Agomuo thanked Governor Alex Otti for finding them worthy for the assignment ,adding that they will not betray the confidence reposed in them.

The Acting Head of Service lady Joy Maduka and other top Government officials were present during the inauguration.
