Clergyman Decries Rate Of Insecurity In Nigeria

 

As Nigeria continues to experience increasing level of insecurity despite repeated promises to crush insurgencies by President Mohammadu Buhari,the Anglican Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, Rt Rev’d Geoffrey Ibeabuchi has decried the perceived unserious approach of the Federal Government towards the fight of Insecurity in the country.

 

 

Bishop Ibeabuchi who was interacting with Newsmen at the St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Umuahia, on the state of security system in the country, said if the Government through its security apparatus failed to rise to the challenge and get things right, people might be forced to believe that the government is playing politics with the situation.

The Anglican Bishop who further decried the economic crisis, hardship, spat of kidnapping and other societal ills bedeviling the country, lamented further that the political class, the Clergy, Governors among other personalities are not safe this time, as they are constantly being attacked.

 

He encouraged the Church and Nigerians in general to consistently pray God to turn the negative situations in Nigeria for good.

 

Bishop Ibeabuchi called on the Government and the Church to come together to rebuild the society’s moral standard spiritually adding that as there is a lot of hatred in the land.
