Civil servants donate brand new car to Abia Governor

Civil Servants in Abia state, have donated a car worth over millions of Naira to the state Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, in appreciation of his giant stride in the state especially in the area of workers welfare.

The Abia workers who converged at the famous Nnamdi Azikiwe Secretariat, New government layout, Umuahia, said they are satisfied with the way and manner the governor is handling the case of the workers, saying in appreciation of that kind gesture,they are donating a brand new car to him.

The workers who spoke through the Head of Service, Sir Onyii Wamah, said the workers have not had it this good before in the past administration, as workers now receive their salaries promptly through electronic payment, except for some few outstanding arrears, adding that soonest the arrears would be cleared, as well as pensions.

Presenting the brand new car to the governor, Wamah promised civil servants that in the next dispensation they will smile.

Reacting, the governor of the state, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, expressed shock in the kind of gift the workers could put up, saying that it has dispelled the rumor making the round that workers are not happy with his administration due to salaries owed them.

Ikpeazu further disclosed that already payment of February salaries are on going to aid workers who would be traveling to cast their vote, maintaining that by Friday, 2017 Leave Allowances would be paid to those who are yet to receive payment,urging them to vote PDP come Saturday, as it is the only party that means well for the masses.
