In the euphoria of celebration of independence anniversary of Nigeria, some prominent Abians have congratulated leaders and citizens of the country on the celebration.
In his message on the events, the president general Association of Igbo town unions, Abia State chapter, Chief George Mgborukwe advised Nigerians to embrace love, tolerance and Justice for the progress of the country.
Chief Mgborukwe who stressed that Nigerians have a good course to celebrate her independence, observed that in the midst of obvious challenges, there are serious of reasons to celebrate as many countries of the world are in crisis and either in civil or external war.
He thanked God that Nigeria has remained intact and growing in lips and bounds ranging from population, technological and science advancement among others and called on our leaders to address the mirage of problems threatening the existence of the country.
He called for the release of the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who has remained under incarceration for so long pointing out that his released will ease tension in many parts of the country.
Chief Mgborukwe use the celebration to appreciate the state governor Dr Alex Otti on his determination to lift Abia to the level of competing with comity of states in Nigeria in terms of infrastructure and overall development and assured that posterity shall remain grateful to him.
The president General of the state chapter of the Association of Igbo town unions, Chief Mgborukwe called on Abians to continue to support and pray for the governor to sustain his zeal of development and welfare of Abians while calling on the people to engage in laudable and patriotic venturesbfor the good of all.
