In his 100th day as Chelsea owner, Todd Boehly has fired Thomas Tuchel after their 1-0 loss to lowly rated Dinamo Zagreb on match day one of this season’s UEFA Champions League last night.
The former Borussia Dortmund and Paris St Germain manager bid the Stamford Bridge goodbye just after 20 months, which saw the German tactician win three trophies including the UEFA Champions League in 2021.
The BBC claims that the sacking of Tuchel is bound to happen regardless of the outcome of last night’ Champions League match.
Chelsea’s technical team will take charge pending the appointment of a new manager.
There are speculations that on the shortlist of possible replacement include former Real Madrid boss, Zinedine Zidane, Mauricio Pochettino, former Tottenham Hotspur and Paris St Germain boss as well as current Brighton boss, Graham Potter.
The Blues are currently sixth on the Premier League table with three wins, one draws and two defeats.
