Cameroon Qualify for 2019 Women’s World Cup

The Lionesses of Cameroon have joined Nigeria and South Africa as the three African teams to next year’s Women’s World Cup billed for France.

The Lionesses this evening defeated Mali 4-2 in the third place match of the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations, which will come to an end tomorrow, when the Super Falcons of Nigeria lurk horns with the Bayana Bayana of South Africa.

Ninon Abena grabbed a brace in the first half before Fatoumatta Diara pulled one back as the first half ended 2-1 in favour of the Camroon ladies.

Mali came into the second half knowing that they could equalize and infact, they did on the 58th minute through Aurelle Awoma’s own goal.

Gabrielle Onguene restored Cameroon’s  lead when she scored on 62nd minute. Chritine Manie put the icing on the cake with the fourth goal.
