Breaking: Policeman killed, others injured in Gov Ishaku’s convoy accident

A police intelligence officer attached to the wife of Taraba governor, Barr. Mrs. Anna Darius Ishaku, died Thursday evening when his vehicle in the convoy of Governor Darius Ishaku had accident along Bali Jalingo road.

Two other occupants of the vehicle, a CIB police officer and a nurse are said to be in a critical condition at the time of filing this report.

Punch reports that the accident occurred between Bali and Garba Chede axis, along Bali -Jalingo road at about 4:45pm.

A source said the vehicle, which was far behind on the governor’s convoy on their way back from Takum where the governor spent his Christmas and New Year break, veered off the road when one of the tires got burst.

“A CIB personnel who works with the wife of the governor, Barr. Mrs. Anna Ishaku, as Chief Detail died instantly in the accident.

“A lady colleague of his and a nurse attached to the governor’s wife are all unconscious as I speak,” he said.

The governor was driving in the same car with his wife when the security Sport Utility Vehicle attached to his wife was involved in the accident.

Police Public Relations Officer, ASP David Misal, said “A car on the governor’s convoy this evening had an accident, but I am not aware of any death.
