Boko Haram: Yobe Governor’s Aide Killed

Aide de Camp to Yobe State Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam,  Inspector Ahmed Abba,  has been reportedly killed by Boko Haram on Monday, December 24.

Mr Ahmed is said to have been murdered during an attack at a military base in Kukareta village, a suburb of Damaturu, the state capital.

According to a local resident who had interaction with Neptune Prime Newspaper, the Boko Haram insurgents attacked the convoy where Inspector Ahmed was inside, after setting a military base ablazed.

“The insurgents came in and went straight to a military formation located in the village,” said a local resident who craved anonymity.

“However, no soldiers were around, possibly having received prior information of the advent of the insurgents…but we also saw a tick smoke from our hiding place,” he added.

The incident got many villagers running into the bush, while some escaped to Damaturu.

This comes just as residents of Zamfara State were protesting the incessant killings by bandits.
