Following the economic meltdown which has triggered hardship in Nigeria, the President, Vision Africa International, Bishop Sunday Ndokwo Onuoha, has expressed displeasure with the state of Nigeria’s economy.
The Methodist cleric made his emotion known while speaking during the child dedication of little Miss Chidiebube cum Silver Jubilee Thanksgiving Service of Mr and Mrs Samuel Abel at Saint Peter’s Methodist Church, Azikiwe Road, Aba, Abia State.
He observed that there is hunger in the land, adding that it is a collective responsibility ranging from the National Assembly, Nigerian Labour Congress, opposition parties among others, to hold the leaders accountable.
He further condemned the removal of subsidy without proper plans on ground to arrest the effect.
The 2023 guber candidate of ADC party in Abia State revealed that he believes in the Nigerian legal system which he pointed out may not be palatable to some Nigerians.
Responding to questions from journalists on the disengaged 10,000 Abia workers, Onuoha said he has no issue with that if Governor Alex Otti adheres to Civil Service rule.
The cleric who referenced the book of Exodus chapter 12, acknowledged that life has uncertainties but assured that God will show up in Nigeria’s situation, just as He did in the case of the Israelites while they were in Egypt and that of the celebrant who waited for 21 years for His biological blessing.
In their separate speeches, Mr. and Mrs. Abel expressed gratitude to God for His benevolence and faithfulness.
Continuing, the couple, Martha and Samuel Okorie Abel used the avenue to encourage families passing through such trials to sustain faith in God who they said, does not fail.
They further hinted that it pays to trust and serve God despite challenges being faced, affirming that with Him there is no lateness.
The occasion attracted dignitaries from all walks of life.
