BIR Chairman charges Afara people

The Chairman of Board of Internal Revenue (BIR), Abia State, Elder Udochukwu Ogbonna has charged Afara-Ukwu women to make God the corner stone of life, family and community at large.

 

Udochukwu, who is the illustrious son fo the area and the chairman of the 2018 Afaraukwu Women August hom coming celebration stressed that women are home builders and community developers, enjoined all and sundry to support them in their aspiration for the Afaraukwu community.

Earlier in her address, the President-General of Afaraukwu women, Mrs. Aisha Onyemobi, stated that the aim of the women was to unite them to develop the community and to make sure that women are not left in the scheme of things in the state. Mrs. Onyemobi also use the occasion to thank Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for appointing their sons and daughters to positions of trust in the state.

 

Notable members of the community that grace the occasion, include Eze Princewill Ukaegbu of Enyi Ukwu Autonomous Community; Eze Ibeabuchi of Okwulaga  Autonomous, Chief Isaac N. Iwegbu, Sir Frank Ibe former TC Chairman Umuahia North LGA Lady Victoria Aguiyi Ironsi, wife of the first military head of state among others.
