The Member representing Bende North State Constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Chijioke Chukwu, has congratulated the member representing Bende Federal Constituency,Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu, as he clocked 51 years.
In his goodwill message, Hon Chukwu described the Federal lawmaker as a forthright and hardworking legislator, whose contributions and interest in the development of Bende has remained unparalleled and as well,put Bende on the pedestal of development.
According to Chukwu, Rep Kalu has made remarkable achievements at the Green chambers since his assumption of office, adding that his leadership dexterity has earned him not just the House of Representatives spokesperson,but the chairman House Committee on Media and Public Affairs.
He further described Benjamin Kalu as a unifier,a pragmatic leader, an astute politician and a mysterious enigma,whose contributions at the Green Chamber has attracted the dividend of democracy to the people of Bende Constituency.

The Lawmaker, however, prayed God to continue to reinvigorate and strengthen Hon Kalu, as he navigates through his current years and ultimately grant him the grace of good health to march into the new ladder.
Meanwhile,Hon Benjamin Kanu serves as a member of the National Executive council of the All-Progressive Congress (APC).He runs an NGO, Benjamin Kalu Foundation, which was founded on the mission to build the communities that build the nation and has executed several projects to help the indigents,as well as, the less privileged in the rural areas.Through this organization, he has funded educational scholarships for children, Agricultural training, entrepreneurship and empowerment programs for women and youths.
He is committed to representing the good people of Bende and bringing to them the dividends of democracy. As a result of his leadership and philanthropy to the Bende people, he was conferred with the prestigious title ‘UTABIRI BENDE’.
True leadership is one that breeds trust and accountability to its benefits and as Warren Bennis once wrote, ‘Leadership is the capacity to transform vision to reality’.
Being a visionary leader, Hon. Ben has been able to gradually transform the vision which he is passionate about for Bende into reality. He has shone the light and given the constituency a new definition of leadership and governance far from what has been experienced since the 4th republic.
“Regardless of being a first time legislator, Hon Benjamin Kalu became a Spokesperson of the House of Representatives.
“Despite the challenges and judicial distractions, Rep. Benjamin Kalu has delivered flawlessly the promises he made to the people of Bende Federal Constituency.
“He has ensured that he is constantly living on the mantra of Leadership by service, this he has consistently proven in the manner for which he represents the people”.
Chukwu also added that historically, Benjamin has recorded the highest number of projects a legislator has achieved in the Bende Federal Constituency, with over 45 projects, maintaining that the federal lawmaker has successfully put smiles on the faces of indigenes both young and old, home and abroad, through these projects in the various communities.
