Bende Council Boss, Dr. Hagler Okorie
The Transition Committee Chairman of Bende LGA, Dr Hagler Okorie says the people of Bende will remain grateful to the Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu for extending palliatives to meet the needs of the vulnerable and less privileged ones in the area.
Chief Okorie who stated this while distributiņg their own share of Govt’s gifts items and some personal protective equipment to communities and the physically challenged persons in Bende LGA held at the Council headquarters Bende, said in order to ensure transparency in the disbursement of the palliatives, a Steering Committee was set up headed by his Deputy, Mr John Mark.
The Council Boss, further stated that in adhering strictly to the Governor’s directives, all the 109 autonomous communities in Bende LGA are very conscious of the Covid 19 pandemic directives on observance of basic hygiene following the community to community sensitisation.
Meanwhile, the management of the Council introduced making use of town criers through the traditional rulers massive awareness drive in their various communities and expressed satisfaction at the peaceful disposition exhibited by the people.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Palliatives Steering Committee and Deputy Chairman of Bende LGA, Mr John Mark disclosed that the palliatives were painstakingly distributed to the vulnerable members in all the 13 INEC Wards of the LGA and thanked the Governor for his proactive measures in tackling the spread of the Corona Virus in the state as well as his show of love for the most vulnerable groups in the area.
