As reactions continue to trail the uncomplimentary comments by Senator Smart Adeyemi of Kogi West District against Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, one of the major construction firms in the state, ECKLEEN INTEGRATED SERVICES, has advised politicians against making unguarded utterances in their bid to score cheap political points.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Uzoma Onuoha, while reacting in a statement made available to Journalists condemned in strong terms the “unwarranted and unprovoked” attack on the person of Governor Ikpeazu.
He said contrary to Senator Adeyemi’s claims, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has made giant strides in the infrastructural development of Abia state in addition to bringing democracy dividends to the people.
Onuoha while describing Governor Ikpeazu as one of the few governors in the country that have made an indelible mark in infrastructural development, noted that his firm had handled a number of notable projects in the state awarded by the Governor.
According to him, his company alone had completed 13 road projects awarded by the Ikpeazu administration, and is currently working on nine new roads adding that the present adminstration under Governor Ikpeazu would not have recorded the numerous feats especially in infrastructure development if he were a drunk.
Onuoha wondered why Senator Adeyemi should gather such courage to speak evil against the performing Governor Ikpeazu who he said has distinguished himself in all spheres of life.
“I wondered why a man occupying such exalted office as a serving Senator of the Federal Republic could use the floor of the senate,a supposed sacred Chamber to disparage a vibrant, Scholarly and results-Oriented Governor Okezie Ikpeazu whose signature Infrastructurally and other wise is second to none.
“It is quite shameful and purely debasing that Senator Smart Adeyemi who before now had been assumed to be intellectually developed and sane, could bring himself so low in a manner that suggest him to be morally bankrupt.
“Abians all over the world have taken note of this unwarranted attack and unprovoked effrontery and are immediately demanding apologies from the said Senator Adeyemi at the Floor of the red Chambers”,Onuoha concluded.
