Atiku donates 10m to Osisioma Pipeline explosion victims

Presidential flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has commiserated with the Government and people of Abia State over the recent pipeline explosion at Osisioma Local Government Area which left scores dead.
The PDP presidential flag-bearer  on behalf of his Campaign organization announced the donation of 10 million naira to support the state government  in alleviating the plight of the victims. 
He condoled with the government and people of the State over the sad incident. According to him, what happened did not happen to Abia alone but to Nigeria as a whole.
Addressing journalists after visiting the sites of explosion at Umuimo and Umuaduru communities of Osisioma LGA, Atiku who was represented the PDP vice presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi noted that the sad incident did not happen to Abia alone but to Nigeria as a whole.
He stated that, such incidences are some of the problems that ought to be solved by the federal government and appreciated Governor Ikpeazu for what he was doing to take care of the victims.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu while thanking the PDP presidential candidate for finding time to join well meaning Nigerians in commiserating with the State government said his governmenthas set up a committee to ascertain the immediate and remote causes of the explosion to forestall further occurance.
Ikpeazu who attributed the explosion to carelessness by the NNPC management said the incident calls for deep sense of responsibility as pipelines ought to have been checked routinely.
He lamented that many lives were lost in the explosion including children while buildings were destroyed and many people made destitutes.
 
Governor Ikpeazu while noting that  it is the duty of government to bring succour to the people ,promised that the state government will provide accommodation, schools and start businesses for those affected.
