Arsenal showed their intent for this season by beating Manchester City on penalties to win the Community Shield.
A boring and uninspiring game came alive in the 77th minute when Cole Palmer, came in as a substitute to give City the lead.
But Leandro Trossard equalised in the 101st minute, to take the match to penalties.
Kevin de Bruyne struck the crossbar before Rodri and Fabio missed their penalties too. Arsenal could see this victory as revenge for losing last season’s EPL title despite leading for 248 days
Arsenal unleashed their big summer signings Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber, but their performances were not good enough to give the Gunners the day within 90 minutes.
Nevertheless, a win is a win. This victory will spur the Gunners to gun down more opponents.
