Arochukwu Killings: Abia Lawmaker Moves Motion Of Urgent Public Importance

The Minority Whip/member representing Arochukwu State Constituency, Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha, has moved a motion of urgent public importance following the crisis involving the people of Ugbo in Arochukwu and Ikpanja people of Ini LGA, in Akwa Ibom State, that resulted in the beheading of an Aro youth.

In a press release signed by the Media Assistant to the Minority Whip, Abia House of Assembly, Mr. Chimezie Okoroafor and made available to newmen,  the lawmaker decried the incident,  describing  it as a terrible one.

He said he has made alot of efforts to ensure that peace returned to the place by inviting both the military and the police to forestall further occurrence.

He made the following prayers:

“1. That the State government should urgently facilitate a joint invitation of the National Boundary Commission from Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Abia States in order to delineate the boundaries which will lead to a lasting peace between Arochukwu LGA and their neighbors.

2. That the security agencies should help to return the head of the beheaded youth which was taken away by the Ikpanja people to enable the complete body to be laid to rest.”
