Abia State College of Health Sciences & Management Technology is in the news again.This time,the Registrar Mr Ibendiogwu Barthlomey and the Bursar Mrs Ihechi Nwogu are allegedly swimming in deep sea of bribery scandal and misapproriation of school funds.
A competent source claims that the Registrar and the Bursar are demanding about Eight Hundred Thousand Naira (N800,000) from the management to influence the investigation of some staff of the state-owned institution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). They have already allegedly collected the sum of N300,000 according to an insider.
It would be recalled that the former Bursar Mr Obinna Nwaokoma was unceremoniously fired months back on grounds of alleged fraud that got him arrested and investigated by security agencies including the EFCC.
The Management and staff of Abia State College of Health should please help the amiable Rector Prof.Ezeama and by extension the Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu,to sanitize the institution of higher learning to avoid unpalatable stories of non-payment of salaries there.
