As the battle for Anambra State gubernatorial election slated for November 6,2021 deepens,Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party National Campaign Council and Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has tasked members to lead the charge to regain the state to PDP.
Governor Ikpeazu who was speaking during a meeting of the Council hosted in his Umuobiabwa country home urged members of the campaign council to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the party’s presence is felt in all nooks and crannies of the state.
He noted that the PDP had not won election into the Anambra government House for a long time, adding that the situation has lead to despondency among the people.
According to him, “a win for the PDP in the Anambra election will symbolize a turning point in the country and the hope of a greater Nigeria under the PDP will resonate again”.
“Our prayer and assignment is to make sure that the Flag of the PDP will be raised in the horizon in Anambra.
“All of us are in this together and as we battle to raise the Flag of People’s Democratic Party in Anambra, the hope for a greater Nigeria under PDP will begin to resonate across the length and breath of this country.
“That is why this election is important, this election is significant, this election symbolizes a defining moment for us in Nigeria. Infact the hope of our country lies more on what will happen in Anambra on that day of election.
“So it is not about an individual, it is not about Valentine Ozigbo, it is not about anybody. It doesn’t matter who is sitting there in Awka, what is important to every family member in PDP is that we emerge victorious”.
He charged Anambrarians to rise to the challenge of ensuring that PDP wins the forthcoming gubernatorial election and promised to mobilize other Governor’s of the South East as to enable the party emerge victorious.
Ikpeazu who prayed for a peaceful poll, advised Anambra people to be vigilant and rise to the challenge of securing their votes.
In his speech, the PDP governorship candidate Valentine Ozigbo thanked Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for his immense support and assured that PDP has all it takes to win the forthcoming election as it is on ground and intends to make Ndi Anambra proud.
In a vote of thanks, the PDP Chairman Anambra state, Mr Ndubuisi Nwobu appreciated Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for hosting the meeting and for his immense support for the gubernatorial candidate, assuring that no stone will be left unturned in securing total victory for the PDP.
Highlights of the meeting was the announcement of the sub-committees of the campaign Council.
Abia State Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, Senate Minority leader, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, Chairman of the Anambra State PDP Campaign Council, Senator Uche Ekwunife, Secretary of the National Campaign Council and former Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka, former Minister of Environment and Member of the Board of Trustees of the PDP, Mrs Laurentia Mallam, Abia State Deputy Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Obinna Nwachukwu, were amongst dignitaries who attended the meeting.
