Amawom Community in Ikwuano Local Government Area, Abia State, was agog as the Uche Irole Community Projects Initiatives flagged off a road construction project.
Speaking during the flag-off, the founder of Uche Irole Community Projects Initiatives, Mr. Uchechukwu Emmanuel Irole, revealed that the foundation believes in making a positive impact.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the development of the community and maintained that the project aligns with the present administration’s development agenda in Abia State under His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, who, according to him, has visibly transformed the landscape of God’s Own State.
He further stated that he decided to bring development home to complement the governor’s efforts on road infrastructure.
Irole disclosed that the government alone cannot tackle the numerous developmental projects in the state. He used the occasion to call on well-to-do individuals to assist the government within their localities, believing that such efforts will foster rapid development.
The philanthropist revealed that the foundation has executed several community-based projects, including the installation of solar-powered streetlights, free medical outreach programs, donation and installation of a 500 KVA transformer, sponsoring orthopedic surgeries, and agricultural empowerment in poultry production for women and youth, among others.
He advised the people to make prudent use of any items provided, as this will encourage him to do more. He reassured them that the projects will be completed in due time.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Uche Irole Community Projects Initiatives, Chief Cyril Azuonye, observed that the foundation has carried out extraordinary projects to uplift the community, including electrification and life-changing opportunities. He noted that if sustained, these initiatives will make Amawom a model of growth.
He assured the community of the committee members’ collaboration to ensure progress for future generations.
Chief Azuonye recalled that Irole began by providing for the less privileged and widows over a decade ago, later expanding the vision in partnership with his wife, Nancy. He noted that their combined efforts are now transforming lives and fostering development in the community.
Contributing, the site engineer, J. O. Njoku, promised to work with 590,600 square meters of bitumen and drainage. He also assured the community of a quality job and solicited cooperation from the people.
The flag-off event was graced by indigenes of the community and climaxed with refreshments.
