The former Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Area, Hon Hanson Amaechi, has disclosed readiness to slug the Obingwa West State Constituency Seat with other contestants, reaffirming that, it is the turn of his bloc, Ahiaba la Abayi,to represent Obingwa West.
Interacting with the Press, shortly after he picked his Expression of Interest/Nomination form at the PDP secretariat in Umuahia, Hon Hanson Amaechi said since the return of democracy in 1999, Mgboko/Mgboko bloc has been representing the good people of Obingwa west state constituency, sidelining the Ahiaba la Abayi bloc.
According to him, the Ahiaba la Abayi bloc,has been marginalized and shortchanged for the past 24years, calling for equity and fairness to play out come 2023.
“That is why am coming to represent my people for the first time.I call on the delegates to be fair”.
He added that the agitation for the power shift to Ahiaba la Abayi has gotten to the apex and they are ready to take over power.
Amaechi stated that he would give quality representation when elected,as he understands the yearnings of his people,since he lives with them.
He promised to give scholarships to students, support agriculture, attract meaningful projects,as well as empower women and the youth, urging his people to remain calm while they agitate for power shift to the Ahiaba la Abayi divide of the Obingwa West State Constituency, stressing that the era of vote buying was over.
Hon Amaechi, however, assured his people of accessibility, accountability, empowerment, effective representation,among others.
