Allow the word of God to permeate into your lives, Fathers urged

A  preacher of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Ebenezer parish, Elder Sleek Ogbonnaya has charged Christan fathers to allow the word of God to permeate their lives to enable them live a godly life and be example in their homes.

Elder Ogbonnaya Ogwo gave the charge during the Church 2018 Father’s Day celebration held at Ebenezer Parish, New Heaven junction, Umuobia, Olokoro, Umuahia South during which some members were honoured .

He said that men who lived by the word are doers of the word and have passion for work of God and that they are pillars not only in their homes but also in the Church where they participate actively in activities in the house of God .

Elder Ogbonnaya Ogwo equally said that such men are ready to evangelise and win souls for God, loves their wives and are examples to be followed by their children as well are determined, have faith and focused to work for God.

Elder Ogbonnaya Ogwo urged men not to abandon their God given responsibilities in the home regretted that many homes have lost the headdship of the man which he noted are not in line with God’s ordained plan for marriage.

He while congratulating the fathers on the celebration, further urged them to be alive in the roles expected of them both in the home and the Church.

Responding, one of the awardees, Mr Christian kalu thanked the men’s group and the Church for the honour done him.

Mr Kalu who was honoured with “Pacesetter” award said that he remained greatful for what the Lord has done for him and his family and promised not to relent in contributing to the works of God. 

He further called on well meaning individuals to imbibe the culture of given back to the society what God has blessed them with. Earlier while presenting the award, Rev Lawrence Ulu extolled the contributions of Mr Kalu who noted was a strong hand in the church building, donation of musical band among other contributions to the Church and the society. In a similar vein, Mr Kalu has been honoured with an award of “Special Brother” by the Dominion Parish, Presbyterian Church Agbama, Umuahia as part of their Fathers Day celebration.
