Akwa Ibom to Host 2023 Nigerian Cultural, Musical Fiesta on November 2023

Akwa Ibom Ibom State will on November 22-25 hold the 2023 Nigerian Cultural and Musical Fiesta (NICUMFEST) at the Ibom Hall Arena, IBB Way, Uyo, the state capital.

 

This was contained in a statement signed by Akarandot Kokobassey and Idorenyin Aquaisua, the National Coordinator and the Director, Admin of Arts Impacts Productions, the organizers of the event.

 

The statement obtained by our correspondent on Monday noted that the event with the theme, “Mobilizing Nigeria’s Cultural Diversity for National Economic Prosperity”, would feature live performances, competition and exhibition by troupes from the 36 States of the Federation and FCT including privately owned cultural and musical troupes.

Describing the fiesta as a melting pot for the global arts community, the statement noted that it would be an opportunity to promote the defining artistic assets in Nigerian cultural, choral and Afro beats brands.

 

It further noted that it would practically evolve strategic national synergy to deploy Nigeria’s vast cultural potentials and assets to generate employment, promote and export Nigerian creative resources worldwide and enrich the lives of people.

 

The statement partly read, “The event will promote national peace and unity, and enhance the capacity of States and industry stakeholders to create strategic synergies to maximize opportunities within the sector for meaningful economic benefits and sustainable national economic growth.

“The Cultural Roundtable and Matchmaking Meeting component of the event is purposely designed as a smart opportunity for States and sector Stakeholders to evolve a government-private sector actionable prescriptions for mainstreaming into the envisioned national culture and entertainment programmes to ensure seamless and functional implementation of the sector’s blueprints.”

The statement noted that festival Prizes will be awarded to the three best performing groups in each of the categories: Cultural Music/Dance Displays; Choral Music Performances and Cultural Pageantry noting that participation will be secured through registration on the event’s Portal: www.nicumfest.org.
