Akwa-Ibom Gov. Udom Commends Ikpeazu Over Quality Road Infrastructure

 

 

 

Akwa-Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel has applauded the his Abia state counterpart, Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu for providing quality road construction across the state as well as creating link roads to major economic zones between the two neighboring states.

 

 

 

Governor Udom was speaking, Friday while commissioning the recently constructed 9.3 kilometers Osokwa-Aro Umuejie-Omoba Road built by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s administration.

 

 

 

The road which transverses Osisioma and Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Areas of Abia state, also connects to neighboring Akwa-Ibom state and will promote Trade and Commerce between both states.

 

He said: “Today we are all here because Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is a successful Governor. I am proud of him.

 

 

“My brother I really appreciate you for what you are doing. We are proud of you. PDP Governors, the PDP family and your people are proud of you. We are all appreciating you for what you have done.

“I am already overwhelmed by the encomiums that all the stakeholders here have poured on you. There are certain things you do in life and those things will speak for themselves no matter what.

 

 

 

“We must identify with good things. When you see us tag along, we tag along with good things because they say; Show me your friend and I will tell you who you are. So let me encourage him.

 

 

 

“I drove for some kilometers to this venue without encountering not even one pothole. That can only be found in a PDP state. He ( Governor Ikpeazu) came to serve the people and do the will of God and we are partners in progress.

 

 

The Akwa-Ibom state Governor urged Governor Ikpeazu not to be distracted by naysayers but remain focused in delivering democracy dividends to the people of Abia State.

“If they speak well of you it means you’re not doing well because if you’re doing the right thing you cannot impress everybody so allow people to say what they want to say but continue with your work. You know their duty is to distract you but your own is to stay focused and get the job done” he said.

 

 

Governor Udom who disclosed that his administration in Akwa Ibom State constructed a 160 metres road to linking Akwa Ibom to Arochukwu, in Abia State, advised Abians to be patient with the Ikpeazu adminstration and support him to achieve success adding that development cannot be done over night as it takes time.

 

 

 

Also speaking, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu noted that the Osokwa-Aro Umuejie-Omoba road is of great economic importance to the state and serves as link to many towns and States including Umuahia, Aba, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states.

Gov Ikpeazu noted the road would improve on the economic advancement of Akwa Ibom and Abia and called for more unity and harmonious relationship between the two states.

 

He said he has learnt a lot from his Akwa Ibom State counterpart, who he described as a transgenerational leader, hence his invitation to him to commission the road.
