A community in Rivers State, has expressed their strong show of support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s administration.
The Akpor Unity Forum (AUF), the highest socio-political body in Akpor Kingdom, has declared that Akpor people have never had it this good. The group made this known during a courtesy visit to the Rivers State Commissioner for Transport, Prince (Hon.) Collins N. Onunwo Esq, at his office.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Onunwo reaffirmed the Governor’s commitment to grassroots empowerment, emphasizing that while the Governor may not personally reach every citizen, his Commissioners are duty-bound to engage and uplift the people.
“Akpor people are pleased with the leadership of Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Within just a few years in office, you can see significant progress in Akpor Kingdom—projects such as the Port Harcourt Ring Road, Okocha Road, Tran-Kalabari Road, Okania-Mbaraja-Ogbogoro Road, Cornerstones Road, the building of Akpor Kingdom Palace, and many more. Akpor has never had it this good before,” Hon. Onunwo stated.
The Commissioner also announced that the government will soon commence the construction of Rumuorlumeni Community Secondary School and Ogbogoro Community Secondary School, further solidifying the administration’s commitment to education and grassroots development.
To empower Akpor people further, Hon. Onunwo unveiled 10 Master’s Degree scholarships and three PhD scholarships for Akpor indigenes through the AUF. Additionally, he directed the Forum to nominate 100 women across the three wards in Akpor for empowerment programs.
AUF President General, Hon. Chikordi Dike, expressed deep appreciation for the Commissioner’s dedication to Akpor Kingdom, describing him as a key pillar in the Governor’s development agenda.
“Honourable Commissioner, we can’t thank you enough for this show of love to Akpor people. You have been performing excellently in the Transport Ministry, demonstrating outstanding capacity, especially in Akpor Kingdom,” he said.
Dike also applauded Governor Fubara’s leadership, stressing that the Governor had proven himself as a leader who listens and delivers on his promises.
“Akpor Kingdom stands firmly behind you, the Local Government Chairman, and our Executive Governor, who is our grand patron. We are proud to be part of this administration. Development has finally reached Akpor Kingdom, and we are fulfilled knowing that Akpor has been remembered under this government,” he added.
The visit concluded with prayers for Governor Fubara and Commissioner Onunwo, as the AUF pledged unwavering support for the administration’s policies and development initiatives.
