Akpara Assesses Renovation Progress at Enyimba Garment Factory, ENASCO

The Commissioner for the Ministry of Industry and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Mazi Michael Enyinnaya Akpara, has carried out an inspection of the ongoing renovation work at the Enyimba Garment Factory and ENASCO facilities in Aba as part of efforts to revive key industrial establishments in the state.

The Commissioner led a delegation of senior officials from the ministry to assess the level of progress on the project, which is being executed by the Ministry of Industry and SMEs. The renovation is part of the state government’s broader plan to rehabilitate critical industrial infrastructure, stimulate manufacturing activities, and strengthen the state’s economic base.

Speaking during the inspection, Akpara said the visit was aimed at monitoring the progress of work and ensuring that the renovation is being carried out in line with approved standards and within the expected timeline. He stressed that regular supervision of government projects is necessary to ensure quality delivery and accountability.

The commissioner noted that the present administration remains strongly committed to restoring key industrial facilities across the state in order to boost production, encourage local manufacturing, and create employment opportunities for residents.

According to him, the revival of such industrial establishments will not only increase productivity but also contribute significantly to the economic growth and industrial development of the state.

Akpara expressed satisfaction with the level of progress recorded so far and commended both the management team and contractors handling the renovation work for their dedication to the project.

During the visit, the Managing Director overseeing the facilities, Miss Nena Kalu Ogba, conducted the delegation around the renovation sites and provided detailed explanations on the scope of work already completed as well as the ongoing phases of the project.

She assured the commissioner and his team that every effort is being made to ensure that the project is delivered successfully and in line with the vision of the state government to reposition the industrial sector and attract more investment.

Ogba also expressed appreciation to the commissioner and members of the delegation for the inspection visit, noting that their continued support and supervision would help ensure the timely completion of the project.

The inspection visit further underscores the commitment of the Abia State Government to reviving dormant industries, strengthening local manufacturing capacity, and positioning the state as a major industrial hub in Nigeria and beyond.
